The Bandai Tamashii Nations Chogokin Samus Aran features the bounty hunter in her Varia Suit from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. This action figure is approximately 21 cm tall and combines articulated joints with metallic paint and die-cast parts. The design emphasizes the iconic shape of the armor, from the round shoulder pieces to the Arm Cannon on her right arm. Built-in LED lighting illuminates various parts of the suit.
Samus Aran is the central character of the Metroid series. Her equipment plays an important role in exploring unknown environments and engaging in combat. This version specifically follows her appearance in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, in which psychic abilities are also part of her capabilities. Matching left hands make it possible to choose poses that refer to these abilities.
The figure is made of ABS, PVC, and cast metal parts. The articulation allows for various action poses, including a low, crouching pose and supporting the Arm Cannon with the left hand. Interchangeable parts are included for the cannon. The LED units in the chest and the Arm Cannon provide lighting at the head, chest, and barrel opening. Four LR41 batteries are required for this; these are not included.
For collectors, this Chogokin offers a combination of an articulated presentation and the metallic look of Samus' armor. Six interchangeable left hands, connecting parts, and a special display stand help with posing the figure. The height of 21 cm provides enough space to make the details of the Varia Suit visible. This allows this version to fit both in a Metroid collection and alongside other Nintendo characters or collectibles from the Chogokin line.
