This Clown Thug 1 action figure was released in 2012 by DC Collectibles as part of Batman: Arkham City Series 3. The figure is based on one of the Joker Thugs from the hit video game Batman: Arkham City by Rocksteady Studios.
Following the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Joker is in poor physical health, but his influence within Arkham City remains enormous. From the Sionis Steel Mill, he is surrounded by an army of loyal henchmen, who are instantly recognizable as members of Joker's gang due to their striking clown makeup and colorful clothing.
Clown Thug 1 represents one of these henchmen. Rocksteady gave each of the various thugs in Arkham City a unique appearance, making them much more than simple background characters. The combination of clown makeup, tattoos, clothing, and the menacing look fits perfectly with the game's dark atmosphere.
DC Collectibles translated the game design into a detailed action figure officially standing 6.15 inches tall. Therefore, for the product title, the figure is classified as a 6” Action Figure. This first Clown Thug release comes with a knife.
Clown Thug 1 was part of Batman: Arkham City Series 3, along with Batman, The Penguin, Azrael, Ra's al Ghul, and Clown Thug 2. The two Clown Thugs, in particular, make an interesting addition to a complete Arkham City collection when displayed together.
