This The Penguin action figure was released in 2012 by DC Collectibles as part of Batman: Arkham City Series 3. The figure is directly based on Oswald Cobblepot as he appears in the hit video game Batman: Arkham City by Rocksteady Studios.
Oswald Cobblepot, better known as The Penguin, is one of Batman's most well-known adversaries. In Arkham City, Cobblepot has established himself in the former Gotham City Museum, which he has transformed into his own heavily guarded headquarters. From this location, he runs his criminal organization and collects everything he finds rare, valuable, or special.
Rocksteady gave The Penguin a remarkably grim interpretation for Batman: Arkham City. His classic features are still clearly present, but they have been combined with a much grittier look. His short, stocky build, long coat, top hat, monocle, and characteristic umbrella make him instantly recognizable as the Arkham version of Oswald Cobblepot.
DC Collectibles translated this detailed game design into an officially sized 5.25-inch action figure. The smaller scale was chosen deliberately so that the Penguin would be in scale with the larger Batman: Arkham City action figures. The figure comes with his signature top hat, umbrella, and cigar.
The Penguin appeared in Batman: Arkham City Series 3 alongside Batman, Azrael, Ra's al Ghul, and two different Clown Thugs. Series 3 is also among the Arkham City releases that were marketed under the DC Collectibles brand.
