This Batman action figure was released in 2013 by DC Collectibles as part of Batman: Arkham City Series 4. The figure is based directly on Bruce Wayne as he appears in the hit video game Batman: Arkham City by Rocksteady Studios.
In Batman: Arkham City, a large section of Gotham City is transformed into a closed-off prison area where the most dangerous criminals roam free. When Bruce Wayne finds himself in Arkham City, he once again takes on the identity of Batman and discovers that Hugo Strange has a much larger plan prepared with Protocol 10.
Rocksteady gave Batman a recognizable yet more modern and tactical look for the Arkham games. His gray and black Batsuit combines the classic Batman silhouette with armored details, a large cape, and his signature gold-colored utility belt.
This Series 4 version is particularly interesting because DC Collectibles provided this Batman with significantly more articulation than many previous figures in the Arkham series. As a result, this version offers more possibilities for dynamic poses, while maintaining the detailed appearance of the in-game model. Batman also comes with a Batarang.
Batman was part of Batman: Arkham City Series 4, along with Nightwing, Deadshot, and Talia al Ghul. For collectors of the original Arkham City line, this is an interesting alternative Batman version alongside the earlier Series 1 and Series 3 versions.
