This Batman action figure was released in 2018 by DC Collectibles as part of the Batman: Black & White Action Figure series. The figure is based on the artwork of Greg Capullo and specifically on his interpretation of Batman from the well-known storyline Batman: Death of the Family.
Together with writer Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo left a significant mark on Batman during the New 52 era. His powerful and modern interpretation of the Dark Knight grew into one of the most recognizable Batman designs of the 2010s.
For Batman: Black & White, Capullo's Batman was executed entirely in black, white, and grey tones. This gives the figure the appearance of a three-dimensional comic illustration and aligns it with the monochrome concept of DC's long-running Batman: Black & White collection.
The figure is based on the earlier Greg Capullo Batman from the DC Comics Designer Series and is approximately 6.75 inches tall. The sculpt was provided by Jonathan Matthews. Unlike the original Designer Series version, this Black & White edition does not include the three Batarangs. However, the figure does come with a matching display base.
This Greg Capullo Batman was released alongside Batman by Jim Lee and First Appearance Batman by Bob Kane in the first Batman: Black & White action figure wave in 2018.
