This Batman action figure was released in 2018 by DC Collectibles as part of the Batman: Black & White Action Figure series. The figure is based on the artwork of legendary comic book artist Jim Lee, and specifically on his depiction of Batman from the acclaimed Batman: Hush storyline.
Batman: Hush originally appeared in Batman #608–619 and was written by Jeph Loeb with artwork by Jim Lee. The series grew into a modern Batman classic, and Jim Lee's powerful, muscular interpretation of the Dark Knight became one of the most recognizable Batman designs of recent decades.
For Batman: Black & White, this famous design was rendered exclusively in black, white, and gray tones. This gives the figure the appearance of a three-dimensional comic illustration and fits perfectly with the concept of DC's long-running Batman: Black & White collection.
The figure is based on the earlier Batman: Hush sculpt and was re-released in monochrome colors for this special edition. Batman is approximately 6.75 inches tall, features articulation, and comes with a display base. The sculpt is by Tim Bruckner.
This Jim Lee Batman was part of the first Batman: Black & White action figure wave, along with Batman by Bob Kane and Batman by Greg Capullo.
