This Talon action figure was released in 2014 by DC Collectibles as number 2 within the first Greg Capullo wave of the DC Comics Designer Series. The figure is based on the artwork of Greg Capullo and the mysterious Talons from the well-known Batman storyline The Court of Owls.
The Court of Owls is an ancient secret society that exerts great influence over Gotham City from the shadows. To carry out their missions, the organization uses specially trained assassins known as Talons. During his investigation, Batman discovers that Gotham's history is much more strongly intertwined with this mysterious organization than he ever suspected.
Under artist Greg Capullo, Talon was given a particularly recognizable look. The dark costume is combined with gold-colored accents, a characteristic Court of Owls mask, and an impressive arsenal of knives and swords.
DC Collectibles translated Capullo's design into an extensively crafted action figure that stands approximately 6.75 inches tall. The figure features about thirty points of articulation and includes various character-specific accessories. The Court of Owls mask is removable, and Talon comes with two daggers and two larger swords/machetes. In addition, multiple throwing knives are visible on the costume.
The sculpt was provided by Jonathan Matthews. Talon #2 belongs to the original Greg Capullo Designer Series wave and is a particularly representative figure from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's influential Batman run.
