This Mr. Freeze action figure was released in 2014 by DC Collectibles as number 7 in the DC Comics Designer Series by Greg Capullo. The figure is based on Capullo's modern interpretation of one of Batman's most famous adversaries.
Victor Fries, better known as Mr. Freeze, is a brilliant scientist whose life is entirely consumed by his attempts to save his terminally ill wife, Nora. An accident left his body unable to survive at anything other than extremely low temperatures, making him dependent on a special cryogenic suit.
Under artist Greg Capullo, Mr. Freeze was given a modern and strikingly technical look. His heavy armor consists of various mechanical components and is combined with the signature transparent helmet that protects his body from normal ambient temperatures.
DC Collectibles translated Capullo's design into an impressive action figure that officially stands 7.25 inches tall. Due to his bulky armor and broad physique, Mr. Freeze has significantly more volume than many other figures in the Designer Series.
The figure comes with his signature Freeze Gun and features extensive articulation. This makes him a striking counterpart to the various Batman figures within the Greg Capullo Designer Series.
Mr. Freeze #7 was part of Series 2, along with Catwoman, Red Hood, and the large Batman Thrasher Suit Deluxe Figure, among others.
