This Batman action figure was released in 2012 by DC Collectibles as part of the DC Comics The New 52 Justice League series. The figure is based on Jim Lee's revamped Batman design that was introduced during DC Comics' major New 52 relaunch.
With The New 52, DC Comics rebooted its superhero universe in 2011. Batman retained much of his existing history, but like the other members of the Justice League, he received a modernized look. Jim Lee provided the Dark Knight with a sleeker and more armored costume, with distinct segments and technical details.
This version marked the beginning of DC Collectibles' extensive New 52 action figure line. Batman wears the signature grey and black costume with the black Bat-emblem, black cape and cowl, and the modern utility belt from the early New 52 era.
The figure is officially approximately 6.75 inches tall and was sculpted by Jack Mathews. This puts Batman in line with the approximately 7” scale of the other New 52 Justice League figures.
DC Collectibles subsequently also released Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Cyborg, among others, allowing for the entire New 52 Justice League to be assembled.
