This Batman action figure was released in 2020 as number 23 in the DC Essentials series. The figure is based on Bruce Wayne in his modern DC Rebirth appearance and marks the second Rebirth version of Batman within the DC Essentials line.
DC Rebirth introduced a new era within the DC Universe in 2016, combining modern elements with recognizable components from the characters' classic history. Batman also received several variations of his costume during this period.
For Batman (Rebirth Version 2), a more classic black and gray color scheme was chosen. This distinguishes this version clearly from Batman #1 in the DC Essentials series. The result combines the modern Rebirth design with a color scheme that strongly aligns with various classic interpretations of the Dark Knight.
The figure was sculpted by Paul Harding and stands officially at approximately 7.04 inches, or nearly 18 centimeters, tall. As is characteristic of DC Essentials, Batman features extensive articulation that allows for various dynamic poses.
Within the DC Essentials numbering, this version is Batman #23. It followed Knightfall Batman #21 and Knightfall Catwoman #22 and was released in the same period as The Flash (Speed Force), Nightwing (New 52), and Superman from The Return of Superman.
