This Batman action figure was released in 2008 by DC Direct as part of the All Star Action Figures series. The figure is based on Batman as drawn by Jim Lee for the comic book series All Star Batman & Robin, The Boy Wonder by Frank Miller and Jim Lee.
All Star Batman & Robin tells an alternative version of the early days of Batman and his partnership with young Dick Grayson. After Dick loses his parents, Bruce Wayne takes him under his wing, beginning the journey that will eventually make him Robin.
For this action figure, DC Direct translated Jim Lee's powerful artwork into a three-dimensional execution. Batman wears his recognizable grey costume with a black cape, cowl, gloves, and boots, combined with the classic black bat-emblem and the striking yellow utility belt.
The figure is officially approximately 6.75 inches tall and features multiple points of articulation. Additionally, Batman came with a display base.
The All Star Action Figures series combined characters from two different successful All Star comic series. Batman and Batgirl were based on Jim Lee's designs from All Star Batman & Robin, while Superman and Super Lois were based on Frank Quitely's artwork for All Star Superman.
