This Batman action figure was released in 2011 by DC Direct as part of the Batman: Arkham Asylum Series 1. The figure is based directly on Batman as he appears in the hit video game Batman: Arkham Asylum from Rocksteady Studios.
In Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman escorts The Joker back to Arkham, but it soon becomes clear that his arch-enemy has allowed himself to be captured on purpose. When The Joker escapes and takes control of the facility, Batman must fight his way through the notorious asylum and face some of his most dangerous foes.
For the game, Rocksteady gave Batman a recognizable yet more modern look. The classic grey and black costume was combined with a heavier, more tactical design, while the cape, cowl, Bat-emblem, and gold-colored utility belt remained unmistakably Batman.
DC Direct translated this game design into a detailed action figure officially measuring 6.75 inches tall. The figure features articulation and comes in the characteristic four-color clamshell blister packaging of the original Arkham Asylum series.
This Batman was part of Series 1, along with Harley Quinn, The Joker with Scarface, and Scarecrow, making it one of the original DC Direct action figures based on Rocksteady's Arkham universe.
Please note: The packaging is unopened and in good condition. The Batman/Arkham Asylum insert on the inside of the packaging is slightly crooked. See the product photos for the exact condition.
