This Poison Ivy action figure from Batman: Arkham Asylum Series 2 was released in 2011 by DC Direct and is based on her striking appearance in the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum by Rocksteady Studios. Poison Ivy is part of the second series of Arkham Asylum action figures, along with Bane, Victor Zsasz, and Batman in his Armored version.
Behind Poison Ivy is Dr. Pamela Isley, one of Batman's best-known adversaries and a character with a special connection to the plant world. Her ability to manipulate plants and her natural immunity to almost all plant-based toxins make her a dangerous opponent. In Batman: Arkham Asylum, Poison Ivy is freed from her cell by Harley Quinn, after which she eventually takes refuge in the Botanical Gardens of Arkham Island.
When The Joker exposes her plants to Titan, an experimental substance developed based on Bane's Venom, her power increases significantly. As a result, Batman has to deal not only with Poison Ivy herself, but also with the enormous and aggressive plants under her control.
DC Direct has translated her unique look from the game into a detailed action figure of approximately 6.5 inches, or about 16.5 centimeters. Her green skin tone, long red hair, and the fine vines and leaves running across her body closely match the character design from Arkham Asylum.
The figure features multiple points of articulation and originally came with a display base. The detailed sculpt and the unusual Arkham design in particular make this Poison Ivy a recognizable representation of the character from the game.
This is the original Series 2 release from 2011, released under the DC Direct name. This makes this Poison Ivy a fine part of the early Batman: Arkham action figure line and an interesting collectible for collectors of Batman, Poison Ivy, and the Arkham games.
