This Mr. Freeze Deluxe action figure was released in 2012 as part of the Batman: Arkham City collection and is directly based on Victor Fries as he appears in the hit video game Batman: Arkham City by Rocksteady Studios.
Victor Fries, better known as Mr. Freeze, is a brilliant scientist who goes to any lengths to save his terminally ill wife, Nora. Due to a tragic accident, his own body can only survive at extremely low temperatures, making him dependent on an advanced cryogenic suit.
In Batman: Arkham City, Mr. Freeze plays a significant role in Batman's search for a cure for his infected blood. The cooperation between the two characters eventually turns into an impressive confrontation in which Batman must constantly use different tactics to defeat Freeze.
Rocksteady gave Mr. Freeze a particularly heavy and technical design for Arkham City. His massive cryogenic armor consists of various mechanical parts, hoses, and plating, topped by his signature transparent helmet.
This Deluxe version translates that impressive game design into an officially 7.25-inch tall figure. Due to his wide armor and heavy build, Mr. Freeze has significantly more volume than the regular Arkham City action figures. The figure comes with his signature Freeze Gun and features a removable transparent visor.
Mr. Freeze was released as a separate Deluxe release and was not part of the regular numbered Series 1 through Series 4.
