This Batman (Detective Mode) action figure from Batman: Arkham City Series 2 was released by DC Direct and is based on the signature Detective Mode from Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham City. The figure is part of Series 2, which also featured Catwoman, The Riddler, Hush, and The Mad Hatter.
In Batman: Arkham City, a complete section of Gotham City is transformed into a massive prison where criminals and some of Batman's most dangerous adversaries roam free. Batman enters the walls of Arkham City to investigate Hugo Strange's plans and discovers that the mysterious Protocol 10 poses a much greater threat than initially thought.
Detective Mode is one of the most important tools available to Batman in the Arkham games. When activated, the player gets an alternative view of the environment, allowing them to track enemies, weapons, key objects, and other clues. Batman takes on his characteristic bluish appearance in the game.
DC Direct used this very visual presentation for this special variant of Batman. The figure features a largely transparent blue finish that mimics the appearance of Batman while in Detective Mode. This immediately sets this version apart from the regular Batman figures in the Arkham line.
The figure is approximately 6.75 inches, or about 17.1 centimeters tall, fitting within the 7-inch scale of the DC Direct Arkham collection. Due to its striking blue design, Detective Mode Batman is one of the most recognizable variants from the early Arkham City action figure series.
