This Mad Hatter action figure from Batman: Arkham City Series 2 was released in 2012 by DC Direct and is based on Jervis Tetch's appearance in Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham City. The figure is part of the second Arkham City series, along with Batman (Detective Mode), Catwoman, The Riddler, and Hush.
Jervis Tetch, better known as The Mad Hatter, is one of Batman's most eccentric adversaries. His obsession with Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland forms the basis for his crimes and his distinctive appearance. Tetch also possesses advanced technology that allows him to manipulate the minds of others.
In Batman: Arkham City, Batman encounters him during the Mad Hatter side mission. Tetch succeeds in putting Batman under the influence of his mind-control technology, after which reality shifts into a surreal nightmare strongly inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Batman must ultimately struggle to break free from The Mad Hatter's control.
DC Direct has translated his unusual design from the game into a compact yet highly recognizable action figure. With a height of approximately 4.25 inches, or about 10.8 centimeters, Mad Hatter is significantly smaller than the other figures in Series 2. This difference is intentional and aligns with Jervis Tetch's small stature in the game.
His enormous top hat, green clothing, striking face, and Alice in Wonderland-inspired details make him instantly recognizable as the Arkham City version of the character.
