This Riddler action figure from Batman: Arkham City Series 2 was released in 2012 by DC Direct and is based on Edward Nigma's appearance in Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham City. The figure is part of the second Arkham City series, along with Batman (Detective Mode), Catwoman, Hush, and Jervis Tetch: The Mad Hatter.
Edward Nigma, better known as The Riddler, is obsessed with riddles, puzzles, and especially with proving his intellectual superiority over Batman. In Batman: Arkham City, he plays a larger and much darker role than in his previous appearance in Arkham Asylum. Scattered throughout Arkham City, he has left hundreds of challenges and Riddler Trophies with which he constantly tests Batman.
This time, however, his games are anything but innocent. The Riddler holds various people captive in specially designed rooms full of deadly puzzles and traps. Only by completing his challenges and discovering enough secrets in Arkham City can Batman determine the locations of these hostages and eventually confront Nigma.
DC Direct has translated The Riddler's characteristic Arkham City design into a detailed action figure of approximately 6.7 inches, or about 17 centimeters. His green suit is covered with the character's signature question marks and is combined with his bowler hat and cane. In this way, the figure closely resembles his appearance in the game.
This is the original Series 2 release from 2012 by DC Direct. With its recognizable Arkham City design and included accessories, The Riddler makes a fine addition to the early Batman: Arkham action figure line.
