This Batman action figure was released in 2006 by DC Direct as part of Identity Crisis Series 2. The figure is based on Batman as he appears around the events of the influential DC Comics miniseries Identity Crisis by writer Brad Meltzer.
Identity Crisis revolves around one of the darkest secrets within the Justice League. When it is revealed that some members of the JLA had not only altered the memories of supervillains in the past, but also erased Batman's memory after he discovered their actions, the mutual trust between the heroes comes under severe strain.
For the Identity Crisis action figure line, DC Direct was inspired by the art style of Michael Turner, who was responsible for the recognizable covers of the comic series. As a result, Batman has a sleek, powerful comic aesthetic that clearly fits the DC design style of this period.
The figure is approximately 7 inches tall, features multiple points of articulation, and comes with a display base. The original packaging consists of a four-color blister card.
Batman was not part of Identity Crisis Series 1, but appeared in Series 2 along with The Flash, Elongated Man, Black Canary, and Captain Boomerang.
