Michael Ironside is a Canadian actor, voice actor and filmmaker, born on February 12, 1950 . He is known for his powerful voice and intense portrayals of often tough or sinister characters. Ironside broke through with his role in Scanners (1981) and went on to become a recognizable face in numerous films and TV series, including Top Gun (1986), Total Recall (1990) and Starship Troopers (1997), in which he played the iconic Lieutenant Jean Rasczak. He is also active as a voice actor in animation and video games, such as Splinter Cell and Justice League . Thanks to his commanding presence and versatility, Ironside is considered a cult favorite within the sci-fi and action community.
