This special Funko POP! Peanuts Charlie Brown (Halloween) #331 is more than just a regular Funko collectible. The original packaging features a hand-drawn illustration and signature by artist Mike “Mooch” Lachimia, making this an individual and unique item.
Charlie Brown is one of the most famous characters from Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts. This Halloween edition refers to the classic television special It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, in which Charlie Brown and his friends celebrate Halloween while Linus waits, convinced of the arrival of the Great Pumpkin.
Funko released Charlie Brown #331 in 2016 as part of the Peanuts series. The Halloween edition was available as a Walgreens Exclusive and depicts Charlie Brown in his familiar homemade ghost costume, complete with the many poorly cut holes.
What makes this particular piece special is found on the packaging. Mike “Mooch” Lachimia has personally added an original illustration and his signature to the box. Lachimia is an artist and former special effects makeup artist who has worked on film and television productions for companies such as KNB EFX Group. His artwork frequently draws influence from horror, monsters, and pop culture.
Because the illustration is applied by hand, this is not a standard printed variant: the artwork makes this specific item individual. The combination of the Halloween Charlie Brown POP!, original Mooch illustration, signature, and accompanying certification makes it particularly interesting for collectors of Peanuts, Funko, and original pop culture art.
"I got a rock."
