Good Smile Company - MODEROID - RoboCop - ED-209 (3rd Run) - 22 cm Model Kit

This ED-209 Model Kit was re-released in 2026 by Good Smile Company as part of the MODEROID series and is based on the iconic Enforcement Droid from the original 1987 RoboCop film. This version marks the second official re-release of the model kit, which originally appeared in 2021 and was first re-released in 2024.

The Enforcement Droid Series 209, better known as ED-209, was developed by Omni Consumer Products as a heavily armed robot for law enforcement. However, during a notorious demonstration at OCP headquarters, the imposing machine proves it is far from ready for service. The incident is one of the most famous scenes in RoboCop and makes it immediately clear why OCP starts looking for an alternative: RoboCop.

Good Smile Company has translated the characteristic design of ED-209 into an impressive MODEROID Model Kit approximately 20 centimeters tall. The mechanical construction is extensively articulated, with joints, pistons, and slide rails that can move. This allows for both threatening combat stances and recognizable poses from the film to be recreated.

The kit is made of PS and ABS plastic, supplemented with POM and PE for certain joints. The parts are distributed across runners in four different colors: light gray, silver, medium gray, and dark gray. Cables between the arms and the body are reproduced with separate wires, and water-slide decals are included for extra detail. Some joints are pre-assembled to make building and posing easier.

The sculpt was provided by T-REX. With its substantial size and immediately recognizable design, ED-209 makes for an impressive display model for collectors of RoboCop and the MODEROID series.
