Hasbro brought Wolverine in his Astonishing X-Men iteration to the Marvel Universe line with this 3.75-inch action figure from Series 3. The figure is numbered #025 and was released in 2011 as part of Wave 16 of the Marvel Universe series.
Wolverine, better known as Logan, is one of the most recognizable members of the X-Men. His mutant powers provide him with exceptional regenerative abilities, heightened senses, and a significantly longer lifespan. Combined with his adamantium-reinforced skeleton and claws, this makes him one of the most dangerous fighters in the Marvel Universe.
This version is based on Wolverine's appearance in Astonishing X-Men. The figure wears the recognizable yellow and blue costume introduced during the acclaimed Astonishing X-Men period. The design represented a modern return to the classic X-Men colors after Wolverine had appeared primarily in darker costumes for years.
Hasbro translated the Astonishing design into the compact 3.75-inch format of Marvel Universe, featuring multiple points of articulation for various poses. The extended adamantium claws are an integral part of this version's recognizable look.
The original Series 3 cardback with number #025 also makes an unopened specimen attractive for collectors who collect the Marvel Universe line carded. Within Wave 16, Wolverine appeared alongside Iceman, Absorbing Man, and Ultimate Magneto, among others.
