Hasbro brought Frank Castle back to the Marvel Universe line with Punisher #013 from Series 4. This 3.75-inch action figure was released in 2012 as part of Wave 19 and features The Punisher in a modern comic book style.
Frank Castle was an experienced soldier before his life was completely changed by the violent death of his family. While many Marvel heroes try to arrest criminals, Castle wages his own uncompromising war on the underworld. Armed with military training, tactical experience, and an extensive arsenal, he became one of Marvel's most famous anti-heroes as The Punisher.
For this Series 4 release, Punisher wears his signature black gear with the large white skull symbol on his chest. Hasbro combined the design with multiple points of articulation and a selection of weapons that suit the character well.
The Punisher comes with a machine gun, handgun, and knife. Series 4 also introduced a changed packaging style for Marvel Universe. The earlier figure stands disappeared from the series and were replaced by character-specific Collectible Comic Shot artwork on the card.
The original Series 4 packaging with number #013 also makes an unopened specimen interesting for collectors who collect the Marvel Universe line complete and carded.
