Character:
This Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series Baze Malbus #37 is based on his appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It is the original version in the black Red Line window box with red accents and number 37. The figure belongs to the 6-inch line and is scaled to match other Black Series characters from the film. His heavy armament and armored clothing define the recognizable look of this version.
Baze Malbus lives on the Empire-occupied planet of Jedha and relies primarily on his experience and firepower. This provides a counterbalance to his friend Chirrut Îmwe, who maintains his faith in the Force. Together, they become involved in the mission of Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor. Their contribution to the battle on Scarif ties their story to the effort to secure the Death Star plans.
Hasbro has executed Baze with a green jumpsuit, armor pieces, and applied weathering details. The heavy repeater cannon is combined with a back tank and a flexible connection cable. The back tank can be attached to the back of the figure. Additionally, a small handheld weapon is included, which is referred to as a taser in figure archives and can be stored on the back of the belt. The joints offer various posing possibilities, although the clothing and equipment limit some torso and leg movement.
For a Rogue One collection, Baze is a fitting combination with Chirrut Îmwe and the other members of the team. This release is especially relevant for collectors of the original Red Line packaging. It is not the later re-release with updated face printing and Galaxy box. The offered item comes from a private collection. The packaging is described as Near Mint, with light scratches on the transparent window.
