This Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series Dengar #74 brings the bounty hunter from The Empire Strikes Back to the 6-inch figure line. This is the original 2018 release, supplied in the recognizable black-and-red Red Line window box. The number 74 makes this version identifiable within the numbered series. For collectors who organize their Black Series collection by packaging line, this original presentation is a relevant part of the product.
Dengar is one of the bounty hunters gathered by Darth Vader aboard the Executor to track down the Millennium Falcon. His wrapped head and heavy gear give him a different silhouette than the other hunters present. Within a collection centered on the original Star Wars trilogy, he fits in well with characters such as Bossk, IG-88, Boba Fett, 4-LOM, and Zuckuss. Together, these characters refer to the famous scene from Episode V.
The figure combines Dengar's armor with a backpack and two separate weapons: a blaster rifle and a blaster pistol. The backpack is detachable. Thanks to the articulated joints, you can adjust the pose of the arms and legs and create various setups with the weapons. The 6-inch scale is consistent with other figures in the same Black Series scale class, allowing Dengar to be displayed either individually or in a group display.
This release is particularly interesting if you are specifically collecting the original numbered Red Line series. The window box displays the figure and accessories and features the characteristic design of that period. The item offered comes from a private collection. The packaging is described as Near Mint with light scratches on the transparent window. That condition is specific to this individual item and is relevant if you wish to keep the figure in the box.
