Character:
This Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series Lando Calrissian #65 is based on the young Lando from Solo: A Star Wars Story, played by Donald Glover. The figure was released in 2018 as part of the original Red Line series. His yellow shirt, dark trousers, and cape form the recognizable combination of this version. The black-and-red window box bears number 65 and matches the packaging of other figures from this period.
In Solo, we meet Lando before he becomes the administrator of Cloud City. He is a self-assured gambler and owner of the Millennium Falcon, with L3-37 as his co-pilot. His meeting with Han Solo marks the beginning of a relationship in which cooperation, rivalry, and a game of sabacc frequently converge. This figure is therefore a great fit for a collection featuring the young Han, L3-37, Qi’ra, and the other characters from the film.
Hasbro has equipped the figure with a removable cape and scarf. The included blaster consists of two parts and can be stored in the holster. The articulated joints allow for various standing and action-oriented poses. The face decoration uses the Photo Real technique to capture the likeness of Donald Glover. The scale belongs to the 6-inch class of The Black Series.
For collectors, this release offers a distinct Lando compared to his later appearances in the original trilogy. The costume, face, and film context make him specific to a Solo display. Furthermore, the numbered Red Line box is relevant for those collecting this packaging series. The item offered comes from a private collection. The box is described as Near Mint with light scratches on the transparent window.
