Medicom Toy - MAFEX - Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Batman (Battle Damaged, 2021) #119 - 6” Action Figure

This Batman action figure was originally released by Medicom Toy in 2021 as MAFEX No.119 and is based on Batman as he appears in the second part of Frank Miller's legendary The Dark Knight Returns, titled The Dark Knight Triumphant. This version depicts the older Bruce Wayne during the violent events of the story and is distinguished, among other things, by the included battle-damaged Batman mask.

In The Dark Knight Returns, an aging Bruce Wayne returns as Batman after years of absence. Gotham City is plagued by crime and the Mutant Gang, eventually leading Bruce to resume the fight. His return, however, is anything but easy, and the physical consequences of his battles are clearly visible.

Medicom Toy has produced this version of Batman as an approximately 16-centimeter-tall MAFEX action figure. The broad and muscular build follows Frank Miller's characteristic art style and is combined with the familiar gray costume, blue elements, and the large black bat symbol.

A key feature of this release is the interchangeable battle-damaged masked head, which allows for Batman's battered appearance from the comic to be displayed. In addition, an unmasked Bruce Wayne head is included. Several interchangeable hands allow for additional combat and display poses.

The fabric cape contains a metal wire frame, allowing the cape to be shaped into various forms while posing. Together with the extensive MAFEX articulation and the included movable display stand, this offers many possibilities for recreating scenes from The Dark Knight Returns.
