NECA brings Miyamoto Usagi to the Ultimate line with this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Usagi Yojimbo action figure. The approximately 18 cm tall figure is based on the work of legendary cartoonist Stan Sakai and was produced in collaboration with Dogu Publishing. NECA opted for a completely new sculpt and a stylized comic book finish that translates Usagi Yojimbo's distinctive drawing style into a three-dimensional form.
Miyamoto Usagi is the ronin rabbit samurai from the long-running comic series Usagi Yojimbo. Although he originates from his own universe, there has been a special connection with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for decades. Usagi and the Turtles have met multiple times in comics and animation, making the character inextricably linked to the broader TMNT history.
This Ultimate version is made in NECA's well-known 7-inch scale and features extensive articulation that allows Usagi to be posed in serene samurai stances as well as dynamic combat poses. The figure comes with interchangeable heads and hands, allowing for various expressions and poses. Of course, Usagi's characteristic katana is also included. NECA delivers the figure in a collector-friendly window box with a hinged front, ensuring that the presentation matches the other Ultimate releases.
For collectors, the combination of two important comic universes is particularly interesting. The figure celebrates over forty years of history of both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Usagi Yojimbo and also connects with NECA's corresponding Ultimate versions of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. Miyamoto Usagi thus forms a particularly strong addition to any TMNT, Usagi Yojimbo, or NECA Ultimate collection.
